My Pregnancy Skincare Routine
Let’s be real, being pregnant is hard… especially your skin! From hormonal imbalances to the not-so-occasional pregnancy craving ( I’m sure all the mommas out there can relate!), pregnant women run the gauntlet of skin issues during their pregnancies which means it can be really difficult to find a routine that works!
But fear not mamas, there is hope! Being on my 5th pregnancy now and an aesthetician to many mothers to-be, I know my way around expecting skin! In this blog, I am going to break down my daily routine for expecting moms and ALL of these products in my skin routine are safe to use while pregnant!
My Morning Routine:
Personally, my skin tends to be on the dry side. Circadia’s Vitamin veil Cleanser removes impurities from my skin while leaving behind a veil of vitamins on my skin. The veil leaves my skin feeling silky, hydrated and most important gives me that beautiful JLO glow! What’s really nice about all of Circiadia’s cleansers, is that they are all PH balancing so there is no need for a toner! YAY! Safe your self a step.
The next step is Circadia’s Myo-Cyte Plus serum which is hands down my favorite product! I apply this to my expression lines. This goes on my forehead, 11’s and crows feet. You can also apply to your upper lip lines and nasal folds. Those areas are not a concern for me so I personally do not apply there. I use Myo-Cyte Plus as my natural toxin-free Botox. Myo-Cyte Plus uses passionflower extract which has three powerful muscle relaxers in it to restrict muscle movement. It’s not like Botox where you can’t move your face at all. You still have movement, but it’s like wearing a resistant band on your forehead making it harder to contract muscle movement. Next Myo-Cyte Plus has 4 different award-winning peptides that work on stimulating collagen and soften the wrinkle depth caused by muscle contractions. To sum this product up, it’s a preventive and corrector for your wrinkles. This product is full of peptides which are completely safe while pregnant.
I have a tendency to get tiny broken capillaries while pregnant and I have a more reddy complexion so I use Circadia’s Chrono- Calm. This is a lightweight serum that has Telangyn(AcetylTripeptide-33) in it which decreases redness and broken capillaries. I love the marshmallow root extract which really helps to hydrate and calm my skin.
As most mommas struggle with pigmentation during pregnancy otherwise known as Melasma, so do I. This hormonally based pigmentation is not fun!
Again Circadia has come to my rescue with their White Veil Brightener. This Moisturizer has Alpha-Abrutin, B-white, and Chromobright that prevents pigmentation from forming and brightens existing brown spots as well. So goodbye melasma!
Vitamin D is extremely important to our health, especially while pregnant. The best way to get vitamin D is from the sun. However, too much sun exposure is not good. This has lead to UV ray damage and premature aging. With that being said, if I am going to be outside more than 15mins or driving in my car counts as well. (Yes, unfortunately, our car windows are not UV rays protected, that’s why your left side of your face typically has more sun damage. ) I will apply a chemical-free sunscreen to my skin. I love Zinc it Over !

My Night Routine
The best way to clean your skin at night is by using a double cleanse technique. Starting with an oil cleanser, massage into your skin for 15 secs, DO NOT rise off. Then on top of your oil cleanser apply the corrective/ deep pore cleansing cleanser. Massage into your skin for 45 secs. Next is to rinse off your cleansers. My favorite cleansers for the double cleanse technique is Circadia’s Vitamin Veil Cleanser. This cleanser is made from GMO-free soybean oil that is great for inhibiting hair growth on the face and leaves behind a veil of nourishing vitamins on your skin. The second cleanser is Circadia’s Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser for deep clean to remove dirt and makeup from the skin. A double cleanse technique also helps combat blackheads! For more information on how to cleanse your skin check out my blog on skin cleansing.
Vitamin C is a powerhouse antioxidant that is essential in every skin regiment to prevent premature aging. Vitamin C will boost collagen synthesis and provide an overall brightening to the skin. I love Circadia’s Vitamin C Reversal Serum for a couple of different reasons. First, they use Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate which is the most biologically active form of vitamin C which is great for sensitive skin. Second is the percentage of vitamin C in the bottle is 20%, making it a very potent and corrective serum. The last reason is their vitamin C serum has a base of hyaluronic acid that is extremely hydrating to the skin.
Vitamin A/ Retin- A is hand down the most talked about skin routine must have and unfortunately, when you are pregnant you can not use this magical ingredient. Doctors say excessive amounts of the vitamin can interfere with fetal development and lead to birth defects. To be on the safe side its best to use an alternative to vitamin A, that’s why I use Circadia’s RevitaCyte. This moisturizer has Revitalin PF in it that creates cell turn over just like vitamin A. RevitaCyte is also great for sensitive skin and skin’s that cant handle Retin- A and does not make you sensitive to the sun so you can wear in the daytime as well. This power-packed moisturizer has lots of peptides that work on skin tightening and wrinkles softening, antioxidants, and microalgae extract that gives the cell’s energy to make collagen.
