• Clean & Cleanse: We use cleansers to clean the skin surfaces that are receiving treatment.

• Numbing Cream: We apply a topical numbing cream to ease any discomfort that may occur.

• ResurFX Procedure: We use the Lumenis M22 device that is safe on most skin types, is nearly painless, and achieves amazing results.

• Soothing Healing Balm: After, we nourish the skin with a balm that helps calm and nourish the skin for healing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the treatment painful?

Part of what makes the ResurFX device (Lumenis M22) unique is it allows cooling between pulses to minimize the discomfort experienced by the patient. You may feel a slight stinging sensation during the procedure, but the treatment session is relatively quick and discomfort is very short.

Does ResurFX tighten skin?

The heat from the laser energy does stimulate production of new collagen, which can help firm skin; what’s why it reduces the appearance of wrinkles. However, it doesn’t offer enough tightening to make a huge difference in tightening loose skin.

How much downtime will you need?

Your downtime will depend in part on the intensity level of your treatment, but you can expect swelling for about two days, with redness and sensitivity for up to five days after treatment. Cold compresses can help keep you comfortable; try putting a damp washcloth in the freezer and gently applying it to your skin.

Resist the urge to pick at any scabs or flakes, as this can lead to hyperpigmentation.

Avoid any harsh skincare ingredients (retinoids, physical exfoliants, acids, etc.) as you heal.

You’ll also be extremely sun-sensitive and need to avoid sun exposure immediately after your treatment—and continue to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher for at least three months.

How soon do you see results and how long will they last?

You’ll see a difference in skin clarity, texture, and tone after healing from just one treatment, but you may need two or more sessions to reach your desired results.

You’ll continue to see firmer, smoother skin for up to six months after your procedure, as new collagen forms.

With a good skin-care routine and a healthy lifestyle, you may be able to maintain your results for up to two years

How many ResurFX treatments will I need?

The number of treatments will depend on your skin and your desired results. We will personalize a treatment plan tailored to you and your wants. Your BOHO esthetician may also suggest combining your ResurFX treatment with other popular esthetic procedures such as IPL or Radio Frequency Microneeding to further personalize your treatment and help you achieve the look you desire.

Is ResurFX the same as Fraxel?

While ResurFX and Fraxel are both nonablative lasers. ResurFX is comparable with Fraxel. The primary difference is that ResurFX only requires one pass with the laser, whereas Fraxel requires six or more. That translates to a shorter treatment time.
