Microneedling

Clients will see significant results in one session. You do not have to come back for another needling the next month to maintain your results, only if they want to build on to your results. However we recommend 3-6 sessions depending on your age and the severity of skin condition you are wanting to treat. 

You should allow one month of recovery time in between each Microneedling session. After one month of healing, additional treatments may be suggested per each client’s needs presented as necessary.     

Not all Micro-Needling treatments are the same  The solution that is used and the technique a very important in determining the number of treatments as well as how well you stick to your home care.

At BOHO Alternative Med Spa our Microneedling Solution contains pro-healing anti-inflammatory growth factors and cytokines derived from laboratory culture of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, the specialized cells that science has determined function as “command and control” of healing in all injured tissues.

Hyaluronic acid provides lubrication and is a powerful humectant that promotes rapid ultra hydration and volume enhancement within the upper layers of the skin.

Our microneedling solution contains no cells or cell remnants (they are removed during ultrafiltration, the final step in the laboratory culture process).

• Pristine Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Growth Factor derived cytokines is a superior cell source for culture compared to fibroblast cells and adipose growth factors. It maintains a stronger anti-inflammatory portfolio of cytokines.  Our growth factors are derived from the bone marrow of young, healthy, pre-screened adult donors. There is little downtime associated with Microneedling but most feel some tenderness afterwards. This sensation may feel like a windburn or sunburn because of the micro trauma caused to the dermal layer. Every client is different, but this sensation typically lasts about 1-2 days and may be accompanied by redness and dryness, but there is no reason for concern.

It is common to see additional redness on thin areas like the neck. The client should avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours and wear SPF daily. 

We highly suggest waiting to apply makeup until the next day. Each client should be advised to clean makeup brushes and products prior to makeup application with 90% isopropyl alcohol that can be purchased at any grocery or drug store and remember that just like any area of the body where a healing response has been triggered, keeping the area super clean is crucial to healing. 

Home Care:

Clients are not required to use homecare, however, we strongly recommend it! Below is in order of most beneficial.

Vitamin C Serum – We like to use Circadia’s Vitamin C because it has C and the base is Hyaluronic acid. So you are getting benefits of C which brightens skin, stimulates collagen and is a powerhouse antioxidant fused with all the hydration benefits of hyaluronic acid. 

Hyaluronic Acid- The skin’s natural hydration factor, helping to elevate the hydration of the skin and hydro-dynamically replenish the skin’s natural moisture reservoir.

Collagen Protein Powder– An internal boost of collagen that helps with bone, joint and skin health. We Use Crucial Four Collagen that comes from grass fed cows. It is tasteless, and goes great in smoothies or coffee. Two tablespoons is a daily dose. 

At BOHO we use a microneedling pen for your needling procedures. 

Our Pen is a powered stamping device using batteries or electrical source. The speed and depth of needle can be easily changed. We use single-use sterile tips to prevent cross contamination. The pen uses a strait up and down motion for a clean and precise wound,  less discomfort, and is easier to treat smaller areas.

Rollers by comparison come in a certain size that cannot be altered. If you want and shorter or longer needle depth you have to use a different roller that comes in that specification. It can tear the skin and does not create as precise of a wound. There is no proper way to clean a roller, which can lead to infections. 

Additionally, for people who wish  to use an at home version, it’s really hard and painful for them to go deep enough for them to stimulate collagen.

At BOHO we believe education is power. Our Estheticians are constantly going to advanced training to learn the newest education and treatment techniques. All of our Estheticians are highly trained in microneedling. 

We have been trained by Eclipse, Procell, and  Dr. Lance Setterfeild, the Doctor who is known as the grandfather of microneedling and helped make micro-needling popular in the U.S.

Please Note: Do not look up microneedling on youtube!!! You will be terrified. Not every person is properly trained on microneedling.
